Course Schedule and Syllabus

LAMP Leadership 301 is the third and final course in the LAMP Leadership series. This course will present a deeper understanding of evidence-informed and contemporary leadership theory and practice. As part of a cohort of fellow healthcare leaders, participants will develop their leadership knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors and implement a progressive leadership development plan to foster growth in the present and chart a course for authentic self-leadership in the future. 

Course Objectives:
By the conclusion of LAMP 301, participants will:

1. Apply one or more principles of self-leadership to a specific work or career-related activity or group they lead.
2. Analyze how the application of self-leadership principles has changed their approach to leadership.
3. Integrate one or more principles of leading others into a specific work or career-related activity.
4. Evaluate the integration of principles of leading others on specific work or career-related activity.
5. Create a “Torch Talks” as well as a long-term leadership application plan for sustained growth utilizing the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors acquired throughout the LAMP Leadership course series.   

Attendance at synchronous sessions is mandatory and required for successful completion of the course.

Successful completion of LAMP Leadership 301 may result in eligibility to apply for Board Certification in Applied Leadership (BCAL).

LAMP is valuable for all kinds of therapists regardless of their position, managers, practice owners, clinicians, educators, researchers, and students who want to develop their leadership effectiveness.

Leadership doesn’t require a title. You can lead up, down and across your team. However, to be a successful leader, you must first be your own follower. By understanding your own core values, personal mission and vision, and communication and conflict resolution styles, you can ensure that you are leading others with authenticity. 

LAMP Leadership 101 will focus on the development of leadership behaviors for facilitating autonomous practice, accountability, and professional values. Attendees will learn how to influence others to create effective relationships and achieve shared goals. Content areas include

• creating a personal mission statement and self-assessment
• foundations of leadership
• 5 practices of exemplary leadership
• identifying personal styles
• creating a leadership style to align and influence others
• energy and time management
• mentoring and coaching
• communication for improved results
• and implementing personal leadership plans
  

CE Credits:
This course qualifies for 15 contact hours of CEU credit in Illinois, and may also qualify in other states.
