KATELYNN DOWNEY, PT, DPT

Denver, CO

BIOGRAPHY

I earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in 2021. Following this, I completed an Orthopaedic Residency in 2022 and am a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy.

I have been involved in the APTA since being a student in 2019 and have held the roles of Delegate-at-Large and Federal Affairs Liaison for the APTA Colorado Chapter. By continuing my engagement and advocacy work within the APTA, I most recently became a PTPAC Board of Trustees Member.

I am a Colorado native and love to hike, read, travel, play with my dog, and take pride in my plants as a plant mom!

STATEMENT

Over the past 3 years, I have had the honor to be able to expand on my leadership experience through my engagement and participation within the APTA as well as my roles of Clinic Manager and Lead Physical Therapist in my clinical work.

The Academy of Leadership and Innovation has been inspirational to me as an emerging leader early in my career. I am hopeful to continue my involvement in the APTA through the ALI while helping to inspire other early professionals through leading by example, continuing to advocate for the Physical Therapy profession, and to one day reach my goal of becoming the National APTA president.
