Exploring the Concept of Leadership from the Perspective of Physical Therapists in the United States
Building leadership skills in physical therapists with both informal and formal leadership positions is important to improve the safety of patients/clients as well as clinical outcomes. The profession of physical therapy has yet to identify those characteristics associated with leadership that are essential to achieve these goals.
You are invited to participate in a research study entitled: Exploring the Concept of Leadership from the Perspective of Physical Therapists in the United States. This short survey, with slight modifications, has been completed by physiotherapists in Canada and Ireland. Your participation in this survey is completely voluntary and you may opt out at any time. In addition to your participation, it would be appreciated if you would forward this email to additional physical therapists in the academic and/or clinical environment for their possible participation.
The aim of the study is to investigate the perceptions of physical therapists in the United States of leadership skills and attributes. This questionnaire will take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete. There is minimal risk if you decide to participate in this research study. There are no costs to you for participating in the study. The information you provide will be used to understand the perceptions of physical therapists on a variety of concepts and contexts of leadership. The information collected may not benefit you directly, but the information learned in this study should provide more general benefits. This survey is anonymous. Neither email nor IP addresses will be collected. It is understood that it is not possible to guarantee absolute anonymity over the internet; however, for this study no one will be able to identify you or your answers, and no one will know whether or not you participated in the study. Should the data be published, no individual information will be disclosed. Your participation in this study is voluntary. You can choose not to participate. If you decide not to participate, there will not be a penalty to you or loss of any benefits to which you are otherwise entitled. You may withdraw from this study at any time.
