In an exciting showdown of innovation, Ben Cooksey has been named the winner of the 2nd Annual Shark Tank Award for his invention, CompressOn. Cooksey’s project CompressOn is a mechanical device designed for use in a seated position to aid individuals in donning lower extremity compression garments.
The competition, which brought together some of the most promising startups and inventions of the year, saw fierce competition from three other finalists: Doug Adams with the Helix 3D project, Brad Profitt with the Halo CerviCore project, and Casey Charlebois with the EchoMind AI project.
•Doug Adams: Helix 3D is a portable marker-based motion analysis system design to help clinicians get research grade gait analysis data in under 4 minutes. •Brad Profitt: The Halo CerviCore is a dynamic fluid-filled tool worn on the top of the head to promote real-time activation of C/S intrinsic musculature. •Casey Charlebois: EchoMind AI tele-sonography platform allows clinicians to submit ultrasound videos and “live” scanning from any MSK-US probe brand for tele-review.
A heartfelt thank you was extended to the ALI collaborators—Rebecca Tarbert, Alan Lee, and Bob Latz. The event was also made possible thanks to the expert input of the Shark Tank judges and panelists, whose feedback and insights provided invaluable support for the contestants.
