Purpose:
- To acknowledge and honor an APTA member who has demonstrated dedication and outstanding value by their contributions to technology and innovation in physical therapy.
Eligibility:
- Any APTA member in good standing.
Criteria:
The nominee shall have made substantial contributions to technology and innovation in physical therapy in one or more of the following areas:
- Demonstrated prominent contributions in advancing the interests, objectives, and strategic plan of the APTA Academy of Leadership & Innovation Technology in PT Special Interest Group (TechSIG).
- Developed, integrated, and/or researched significant technologies or innovations and/or their components that have impacted the field of Physical Therapy.
- Advanced public/professional awareness of technology use in physical therapy.
Nominations:
Nominations may be submitted by any Academy member.
The materials submitted for each nomination shall include:
- A minimum of two (2) letters of support which address the criteria for selection by individuals who have first-hand knowledge of the nominee’s contributions. Letters must include contact information (name, title, address, phone, email) to
allow verification due to electronic nature of the submission.
- The nominee’s curriculum vitae.
- Any relevant publication(s), grant proposal(s) or grant award letter(s), patent or trademark certificates.
- APTA member number as applicable.
Deadline:
- Nominations must be submitted no later than November 14.
Presentation:
- Awarded annually at the Academy reception at APTA Combined Sections Meeting.
