Dr. Judith Deutsch, PT, PhD, FAPTA, is a professor at Rutgers School of Health Professions in the Rehabilitation and Movement Sciences Department. Dr. Deutsch holds degrees from Stanford University, the University of Southern California and New York University.
She has countless publications and awards that she has earned throughout her career and we know she will continue to be successful through the incredible work she does for our profession.
One supporter of Dr. Deutsch states, “I have also had the opportunity of working with Dr. Deutsch on the HPA’s Technopalooza planning committee over the past three years, where she has been a thought leader and influencer in making this wonderful program
a success every year for the past ten years. She has also presented at various combined sections meetings on behalf of HPA’s Technology Special Interest Group (TechSIG), thereby advancing the interests, objectives and strategic plan of the TechSIG.”
Another recommendation reads “Dr. Deutsch has advocated for the public and professional awareness of physical therapy by co-chairing the PTNow initiative at APTA as well as leading an international effort for the International Neurologic Physical Therapy
at WPT. Recently, Judy has organized as well as present in several virtual conferences on telehealth clinical practice guidelines for Mexico while organizing a professional conference for Brazil. Therefore, Judy is a leader in advancing public and
professional awareness of evidence-based technologies in physical therapist practice, research, and education.”
They go on to say “Judy may be the most collegial colleague I have ever met. Her unfailing attitude in the face of obstacles, and her evident excitement at what we can accomplish together in professional endeavors and always being a physical therapist
advocate of any technologies was the glue that held us together during the past APTA CSM 2021 Technopalooza virtual event. For me, she embodies being a true professional. This makes her a joy to be around, and a welcome addition as the award recipient.
“
Dr. Deutsch, please accept the Technology and Innovation Award for 2022 and thank you on behalf of our profession.
