About the Webinar

Enjoy CSM? Have an idea you’d like to present?  Ever wonder what successful submissions look like? The goal of this webinar is to help interested presenters turn their ideas into organized and clear proposals. This webinar will solely focus on the 2-hour educational sessions, the largest avenue for delivering education at CSM. The webinar will be hosted by HPA’s Program Committee, who is charged with selecting high quality proposals for CSM. Registrants will understand the process of submission, how proposals are reviewed, common pitfalls, and tips on how to be successful.

Educational Objectives:
Explain the submission process for Educational Sessions and key categories required.
Explain the review process and rubric used.
Identify common mistakes seen by unsuccessful proposals.
Identify key components of successful proposals.

 

About the Speakers

Tyra Mitchell, PT, DPT, MHA, CLT, is a Physical Therapist and Healthcare Leader at Ochsner Health System (New Orleans, LA). Dr. Mitchell is licensed to practice Physical Therapy in Louisiana and Georgia. Her practice includes adult, geriatrics, hospital, skilled nursing facilities, sports medicine, orthopedics, home health, critical care, and a host of other clinical settings.  She earned a degree in Physical Therapy from Emory University (GA) and a Master of Health Administration from The George Washington University (DC). She is a certified lymphedema therapist. Dr. Mitchell serves as faculty in the Kinesiology program at Tulane University and the graduate Physical Therapy program at the LSU Health Sciences Center-New Orleans.  Dr. Mitchell is a native of New Orleans, LA where she currently resides.


Trevor Carlson received his bachelor’s degree at Bethel University in Minnesota, his master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, and his doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Montana.  He is a CARF surveyor, traveling across the country to accredit rehabilitation hospitals and provide consultation.   He is a proud member of the APTA and co-chair of the Program Committee for the Section on Health Policy & Administration (HPA).  Trevor guest lectures at Baylor University, is adjunct faculty at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor (UMHB) and is the director of Rehab Services for Baylor Scott & White Health in Waco, TX.
