Presenter:
Amy Lafko founded Cairn Consulting Solutions with the knowledge that you need to grow your people to grow your business. Amy focuses her work on the employee experience that is derived from skilled leaders and aligned teams. She earned her MSPT from Ithaca College, her MBA from Loyola University of MD. As a national speaker, author and consultant, Amy leverages over 20 years of professional leadership experience in several sectors of healthcare. She is certified in DISC, Driving Forces and Emotional Intelligence as well as the 7 Stages of Growth. Amy is the immediate past chair of the HPA Section's LAMP
Institute for Leadership. Her new book, People First: A Proven Method for an Exceptional Healthcare Practice is being published Aug 24, 2021.
Isabelle Rose Porter (Izzy for short) (she/her/hers) is a Doctor of Physical Therapy who has spent her career working with patients over 65 years old. Izzy graduated from Arcadia University in January 2016 and has worked in SNF, outpatient and home care settings. Along with being a Program Manager for BAYADA Home Health Care she also is an adjunct professor at Arcadia University and at Montgomery County Community College. Izzy identifies as a transwoman of color, parent and spouse and spends much of her free time advocating for LGBTQIA+ individuals serving as co-chair on the BAYADA Pride employee resource group and working with the PA Trans Equity Project.
Rachel Privett (they/them/theirs) earned their bachelor's at UW-Madison in 2017 and graduated from MGH Institute of Health Professions this past January. They are currently working in St. Louis as an acute care physical therapist and serve as chair of PT Proud's Podcast task force. Rachel identifies as queer and non-binary.
Chris W. Condran, PT, DPT, MBA-HCM, MS, ACSM-EP, NSPA-CS, EdD candidate
(he/him/his) is a transman who spends most of his free time wrangling his 4-year-old son in the outdoors. Chris is an outpatient orthopedic physical therapist with nearly 10 years of clinical experience. He is an instructor in the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program and Healthcare Management Certificate program at Arcadia University. He is also an Instructor in the MBA program and a student research mentor in the DPT program at Lebanon Valley College.
Dr. Condran’s educational background includes a BS in Exercise Science (East Stroudsburg University, 2006) MS in Exercise Physiology (West Chester University, 2009) MBA in Business Administration (Widener University, 2015) DPT in Physical Therapy (Widener University, 2013) and is currently enrolled in an EdD in Kinesiology (University of North Carolina Greensboro, 2022). He also holds certificates in Healthcare Management (Widener University, since 2013), as a Certified Exercise Physiologist (American College of Sports Medicine, since 2006) and as a Certified Conditioning Specialist (National Strength Professionals Association, since 2004).
He has been lecturing on the intersections of LGBTQIA+ identities and clinical practice as well as Transgender Health concepts in physical therapy. Chris’s research and advocacy interests are centered in providing inclusive clinical environments for all patients, transgender health issues, eliminating health disparities in the LGBTQIA+ populations, and establishing curriculum for LGBTQIA+ cultural competency in the classroom and beyond. Chris is a board member of PT Proud the LGBTQIA+ Catalyst Group/Committee of the Health Policy & Administration Section of the American Physical Therapy Association, where he serves as the education liaison and webinar taskforce mentor. Chris has also shared his unique life experiences with multiple panels and lecture halls related to the diversity, equity, and inclusion of LGBTQIA+ individuals.
