About the Webinar

This session will help clinicians, administrators, and researchers understand the Patient-Driven Payment Model and its impact on the practice of physical therapy. Presenters will discuss PDPM, the research surrounding it, and the challenges and opportunities clinicians face when balancing patient-centered care and evidence-based practice with adaptation to the new payment policy. They will detail the impact of this policy on therapy volume and staffing so participants can apply the research to their care delivery and practice management.

Objectives:
At the conclusion of this webinar, the participant will be able to...

1. Apply recent research on therapy practices and patient outcomes in SNFs to clinical practice in the context of Medicare reimbursement reform.
2. Evaluate relationships between therapy staffing and therapy intensity in SNFs and patient outcomes.
3. Compare patient outcomes across SNFs with varying responses to reimbursement policy.
4. Appraise clinical examples of changes that SNF rehab departments have undertaken in response to payment policy changes.
