Networking Question 1: Equipment Donations

Based on the excellent discussion at the HPA Pro Bono Catalyst Meeting today, that could have gone on for hours more, I have taken the suggestion of Jill Black to post our initial networking question on this forum to continue the group's discussion:

How do you initiate/ manage equipment donations in a pro bono clinic?

As our center at Briar Cliff University is very new, we are accepting all donations right now. With this said, for our first donation we had a very generous individual donate a truck load of equipment. A lot of the equipment was wonderful, but there were things that we could not use and/or were well past expiration dates (i.e. blood glucose monitoring supplies). There are also the issues of where to store the equipment and the potential liability of giving used equipment to a patient. I look forward to the discussion.
